A virtual team-building session people can actually join
A remote activity works best when everyone has something concrete to notice. A cooperative mystery gives the conversation a shared object: a clue, a theory, and a decision you need to make together.
HuntGig play guide · UpdatedStart with a small pilot
Invite 2–8 people, including the host, to one private room. Keep your usual video or voice call open alongside the game. HuntGig runs in the browser; the call is your separate space to talk through evidence. The host needs an account, while guests join with a code and nickname.
Use the free solo demo before scheduling the group. It lets the organiser check the controls and decide whether the amount of reading and puzzle solving suits the team. Participation should be optional, with no expectation that a quiet colleague performs a character.
Give the meeting a beginning and an end
These are facilitation windows, not a promised finish time. Choose a shorter case variant if the calendar is tight; leave extra space for reconnecting and conversation.
- First five minutes: join, choose detective tokens, and agree how to ask for help.
- Play window: inspect the room, share evidence, and rotate who explains the current theory.
- Final five minutes: each person names one clue somebody else helped them understand.
Make collaboration visible without grading people
Ask ‘What evidence would change our minds?’ before an accusation. Invite the person who has spoken least to point to a detail, with a clear option to pass. Keep hints available: getting unstuck together is a better use of a team break than defending a stalled guess.
Treat the result as a shared story, not a performance assessment. If the group wants a result card, review the group name and sharing choice together. A public image can travel further than the original call.
Know the current event limits
The current beta is self-service and free for small private rooms. It does not include a facilitator, company reporting, a large-event control panel, or procurement support. For a whole department, first test one room and decide whether separate independently hosted groups would suit the event. Do not promise synchronised starts or combined scores.
Before you invite everyone
Does HuntGig include a video call?
No. Keep your own voice or video call open and use HuntGig in the browser.
Can I book a managed company event?
Managed corporate events are not currently offered. You can host a free self-service room for 2–8 players and prepare an event brief on the team-building page.
